Why was HashCam® created?

HashCam® was created to address the growing challenge of verifying digital content in an era of AI-generated media and manipulation. Our mission is to set a new standard for how we trust digital media.


What makes HashCam® different from other solutions?

HashCam® does not rely on trust in a company or platform. Instead, proof is based on cryptography and public blockchain data—allowing anyone to verify authenticity independently of HashCam® or even its creator.

Verification takes just a tap, with no need for blockchain knowledge, crypto, or wallets.

HashCam® is led by founders Sebastiaan de Voogd and co-founders Roel Stassen en Ben Gyles, combining expertise in security, sustainability, and international business.


Sebastiaan is co-founder of Sustainability Partner, Certified B Corp. He brings a strong background in sustainable entrepreneurship and technology, with a clear focus on transparency, accountability, and measurable impact. His work centers on building technology that enable organizations and individuals to prove and communicate their impact in a credible and verifiable way.


Ben is founder and owner of Nebit BV, blockchain expert with a strong background in software development, with a clear focus on security and privacy by design.


Roel complements this with extensive experience in international business development and innovation management for multinational companies. He specialises in scaling solutions across global markets and driving strategic growth through innovation.

We have entered a moment in history where images, videos, and documents can no longer be trusted simply because they look real. AI-generated media, manipulation tools, and synthetic content have made it increasingly difficult to distinguish evidence from fabrication. For decades, trust depended on who published something: a journalist, an institution, a government, or a platform.


But in a democratic society, truth cannot depend on authority alone. Democracy requires something stronger: verifiable evidence.


Without reliable proof, public debate weakens. Accountability becomes harder. And trust in institutions, journalism, and civic processes begins to erode.
